Get to Know Us
Katharina Darby You may see a trend forming here, but this column is important to us because our company IS our people, and we're a pretty fun bunch. (At least our parents have told us so, and that's good enough for us.) Well, you'll see. Just read on. This month we profiled Katharina Darby, one of our highly talented graphic designers, or as she's known around here, "Kat, the highly talented artsy-fartsy chick." A California native, she moved to Arizona in February 2005 with her husband, Bryan, cat named Portia and her Pomeranian named Potter the Great. Kat has worked in the advertising industry since 1997, earned her associate's in graphic communications in 2004 and joined the Intramedia team in November 2005. Creativity has always been a driving factor in Kat's life. As a young girl, she tapped into her artistic skills as a regular graphic contributor to her hometown burger joint, Dave's Giant Hamburger in Fairfield, California. You could say that her experience at Dave's really"fed her appetite" for the industry. Ok, we know. That was a little too much, but you're still reading, right? In all seriousness, Kat is an integral piece of the Intramedia puzzle and brings words to life for our clients. She contributes to more than 13 accounts because, well, she's pretty awesome and we take full advantage of that. She was a key player on the Swift Transportation Benefits Enrollment project, creating compelling collateral pieces including booklets, e-mail blasts, postcards and other complementary materials. Her work runs the board as she is capable of creating a broad range of pieces including brochures, signage, stationery, logos, forms...well, as we said, just about anything. Recently, Kat began volunteering at the Arizona Humane Society, where she helps kitties in need find good homes in the adoptions department. So if you'd like to share your home with a friendly feline, Kat's your gal. Ok, now the puns are just spilling out. We'll stop, we promise. When she's done churning out brilliant designs for clients and placing kitties in happy homes, she and her husband strap on their Ebert & Roeper hats and pop the popcorn for moviepalooza, whether at the cineplex or curled up on the couch. She can tear it up on the game board as well and is a challenging opponent when it comes to her favorite game, Risk.
